Corporate entrepreneurship is the answer to the big question: Where is the new growth in 2011 going to come from?
Gideon Hyde, Founder Director of Market Gravity says that the only solution to driving growth in 2011 is "Reawakening the thirst for corporate entrepreneurialism that lies dormant in our large organizations."
Dormant potential lies within corporations, and legacy and complacency usually act as barriers to taking entrepreneurial risks for launching the company into the next realm. Gideon adds that lack of company culture, and not the lack of clever people or ambition, is responsible for a lack of corporate entrepreneurship. This requires not only business corporate leadership, but a lot of emotional intelligence as well.
There is only so much cost-cutting which corporations can do by laying off people. The way ahead is to wear the corporate entrepreneurship mantle, and create new opportunities which lead to the creation of new employment opportunities and spin the motors of the economy.
